Can Sleep

04 Feb 2014 / in

From concept to completion in 11 months. The 121 CAN SLEEP® was invented over a Friday beer in 2004 by Stig Andersen and Jonas “Pindhund” Hallberg and manufactured for use in Denmark’s most beautiful Festival 2005. CAN SLEEP ® was arranged as six-packs near the festival ground. The area had its own toilet and shower facilities. IKEA furnished all the cans with their stylish products. CAN SLEEP® was rented out through the Internet according to the principle >>first come first served<< and was gone in just 40 seconds. The novelty of CAN SLEEP® managed to be described in the major national newspapers, in the television news and has attracted great interest among Danish advertising agencies. Royal Unibrew (Denmark’s 2. largest brewery) had a monopoly of CAN SLEEP® in the first 5 years. Over time there have been many inquiries at home and abroad on Can Sleep and the rights thereto. Smukfest has the rights to the name and production of Can Sleep in the EU and the U.S. Facts: • 2,20 m (7.2 ft.) in diameter and 3,75 m (12.3 ft.) high with pugged sleeping platform with comfortable room for 2 persons • CAN SLEEP® is with lockable door, solid floor and sturdy ladder to the sleeping platform.
